When was the last time the Land Transportation Office issued a show cause order (SCO)? It hasn’t even been a while yet, has it? Well, the agency has another one for a motorcycle rider that supposedly went viral recently.
The LTO shared on social media that it has preventively suspended the driver’s license of a rider who “made dangerous motorcycle stunts along a public road.” The agency said the incident was monitored by its social media team “after it went viral after being posted and reposted on some Facebook accounts.”
LTO suspends driver’s license of rider in viral motorcycle stunt video
Frankly, we haven’t seen the video ourselves, but the LTO’s photo does credit a certain Blake Hizzy on Facebook. The CFMoto 450MT wearing the custom white livery that can be seen in both the LTO’s post and the account’s photos check out, though.

Again, we weren’t able to watch the full video so we can’t really judge, but the LTO’s post does specify that the alleged ‘stunt’ involved standing on the motorcycle and “dancing without holding the handlebars.” I suppose there weren’t any bad intentions here and it was all fun and games for them, but what can seem harmless to one person could put the lives of other road users in danger. Also, when you post something like that on social media, you risk having other people—potentially less-skilled riders—trying to imitate you and possibly hurting themselves in the process. At that point, who’s to blame, right?
“Kahit saan mo anggulo tingnan, talagang delikado ang ginawa ng rider na ito lalo na at ginawa niya ito sa isang public road na maaaring pag-ugatan ng aksidente at malagay sa alanganin ang buhay ng mga road users,” said LTO chief Atty. Vigor Mendoza II.
The rider is ordered to appear before the LTO on August 19. He is facing cases of reckless driving as well as being an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle. The big bike has since been placed under alarm. and the registered owner has been asked to explain in writing why he should not be penalized and to help the LTO identify the rider in the video.
Let this be yet another warning to all motorists to keep those potentially risky shenanigans away from public roads. There’s a time and place for everything, people.
