Motorists can now schedule and track the delivery of their vehicle license plates through the eGovPH app. The Department of Transportation and the Land Transportation Office announced the app update last week, days after application and renewal services for driver’s licenses were added to the online platform.
With the full LTO Tracker now embedded on the app, motorists will also be able to track the availability of their driver’s license and schedule a delivery if they prefer not to pick it up—the same can be done for their vehicle plates.

The tracker’s website is still up and running for those who are not registered on the eGovPH app. However, both the DOTr and the LTO have urged motorists to shift to the app to simplify their applications and transactions.

Last week, the LTO announced that it had finally cleared an 11-year backlog of license plate production, clearing over 18.5 million plates in that time. While the plates have been produced, many of them are still not in the possession of vehicle owners.
In a separate statement, the LTO and DOTr announced that they will be fast-tracking the delivery of license plates, sharing that 1,799,206 plates have already reached their owners, and 7,244,926 more are set to be distributed next.
The agency has also conducted exploratory meetings with the LGUs of Manila City and Zamboanga Sibugay to discuss plate distribution and general road safety enforcement. It is unclear whether the LTO will meet with more LGUs to discuss these issues, and what more optimized processes could look like.
