Instead of starting this month as announced by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the planned rehabilitation of the Magallanes Flyover on EDSA will instead begin in October.

Atty. Romando Artes, acting chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), said in a press conference this week that work on the structure will begin once the rehabilitation of Kamuning Flyover is completed.

“October na po magsisimula yung pagsasara, pero sa gabi lamang,” Artes said. “Hindi na po sila magsasara sa araw.”

Rehab work will be carried out from 10pm to 5am and is expected to last for nine months, or until July 2025.

Meanwhile, work on Guadalupe Bridge will kick off in September, starting with the construction of a temporary detour bridge for light vehicles. Artes warned that putting up foundations for the temporary structure would require excavations, so motorists should brace for heavier traffic.
