Makati City will be holding its Pride Month celebration event, ‘Spread Your Love Makati,’ this weekend, from Saturday, June 21, to Sunday, June 22, 2025.
The celebration will mostly take place on Makati Avenue, specifically from J.P. Rizal Avenue to Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay Poblacion. That stretch of road will promptly close at 12:01am on Saturday, June 21. The festivities are scheduled to kick off at 3pm, and will continue until 11:59pm that same night. The usual flow of traffic should return by 5am the next day, Sunday, June 22, after the event’s egress and cleanup.

Ayala PUJs coming from Guadalupe
To circumvent the event, those heading to Ayala Ave. are advised to turn left on Villena St., right on Gen. Luna St., left on Don Pedro St., right on Kalayaan Ave., and then left on Makati Ave.
Vehicles coming from Mandaluyong City via Makati-Mandaluyong Bridge
Light vehicles are advised to turn right to J.P. Rizal Ave., then left to E. Zobel St., left on Valdez St., right to Century Drive., left to Kalayaan Ave., or cross Kalayaan Ave., and then left to Neptune St. That will lead to a right turn to Makati Ave., then towards Ayala Center, or Makati-CBD.
Trucks and other heavy vehicles are to turn right on J.P. Rizal Ave., but then turn left to N. Garcia St., which will lead them to a left onto Kalayaan Ave. From there, they are to turn right on Durban St., then right to Makati Ave. Finally, trucks can cross Ayala Ave. into the Sen Gil J. Puyat Ave. intersection towards Ayala Center.
Vehicles coming from Makati CBD

The Makati City LGU advises all vehicles coming from Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave. to take P. Burgos St. towards their destination in J.P. Rizal Ave., or the Makati-Mandaluyong bridge.
PUJs coming from Manila City

Those heading to the Rockwell or Guadalupe, have three options via PUJs:
Firstly, along Osmena St. in Brgy Poblacion, jeeps can turn right to E. Zobel St. then cross J. P. Rizal Ave., to then turn left to Valdez St. From there, jeeps can turn left again into to P. Burgos St. Alternatively, from Osmena St, jeeps can turn left onto the Makati-Mandaluyong Bridge Service Road, and then right to Mabini St. From there, J. P. Rizal Ave. (Lumang Munisipyo area) can lead to your destination.
Finally, jeeps can simply turn right onto Makati-Mandaluyong Bridge Service Road, and then left to J.P. Rizal Ave.
Take note that while Makati Ave. is scheduled to reopen on Sunday at 5am, Ayala Avenue is scheduled to close at 6am as part of its car-free Sundays initiative.
