For now, there’s not dedicated off-road variant for the Nissan Patrol. Well, technically, there is one, but it’s only for the North American market with the Armada Pro-4X…until now.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Patrol Pro-4X, and it’s just opened up the possibility of it coming to the Philippines. Unsurprisingly, the Middle East is the first to get this beefed up Patrol, but there’s a good chance that other markets will follow. We’re also looking at you, Australia.

But first, a bit of a disclaimer. The Nissan Patrol Pro-4X and Armada Pro-4X are practically identical. The only difference we see so far is the removal of the reflective side marker lamps required in the US.

That means the Patrol-badged Pro-4X gets the same goodies as its American counterpart. It gets a beefier suspension arrangement to meet the demands of off-road driving. There’s also the standard air suspension system that can extend the ride height to 244mm.

Unique 20-inch alloys are part of the package, along with a set of all-terrain tires. Also, the front bumper has been reprofiled to five this full-size SUV a better approach angle. The skid plates attached to it aren’t for show, either, and it extends further under the chassis. All the chrome has been replaced by gloss black trims, while the variant-exclusive grille and wider fender flares add more presence.
Inside, there are black leather seats complemented by orange stitches. And just to remind everyone on board that this Patrol is a little more special, there’s the Pro-4X badge embossed on the headrests.

Power figures are the same as the standard Patrols. That means a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that’s good for 425hp and 700Nm. It then shifts with a nine-speed automatic transmission, comes with a host of off-road modes, and an electronic rear locking differential.
Over in Abu Dhabi, the Nissan Patrol Pro-4X retails for AED 362,900, which is about
P5,634,000 sans taxes. Its main rival is the Toyota Land Cruiser GR Sport that also gets off-road goodies for extra capability. And given that the Land Cruiser GR Sport isn’t officially sold here, Nissan has all the potential to score an open goal.
