We are a little over two weeks away from the start of the EDSA Rehabilitation Project, which is set to kick off on June 13, 2025. While the project is expected to be completed by 2027, traffic is expected to worsen almost instantly. To help manage the flow of vehicles, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has released a series of alternate routes that motorists can take to avoid driving through EDSA.
These routes may also help those affected by the new odd-even coding scheme that will take effect on the Monday following the start of the project, June 16, 2025. The MMDA has also suggested that drivers make use of the Skyway system, as toll fees on certain sections will be waived for the duration of the project.

For those thinking about commuting instead of driving, the Department of Transportation has committed to increasing the number of trains on the MRT-3 system and adding 100 more buses to the EDSA Carousel to increase its daily capacity for commuters.

The EDSA Rehab Project will begin with the northbound sections of Roxas Boulevard, the Quezon City-Caloocan boundary, and the southbound lanes by SM North EDSA. Construction will start with the innermost lanes and will gradually move into the outer lanes.
The EDSA Busway will remain open and operational throughout the project. The DOTr has confirmed that the bus system will routinely have a dedicated lane as the project continues during the coming years.
