The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has installed live video feeds of EDSA traffic conditions in information kiosks at SM Megamall. This is the first initiative in the agency’s traffic information sharing project, which aims to promote transparency and data-driven solutions in road management.
Currently, the southbound lanes along EDSA-Shaw and EDSA-Ayala are on display at SM Megamall, along with the northbound sides of EDSA-Guadix and EDSA-Santolan. These live feeds should allow shoppers and mall employees to check real-time traffic conditions before heading out of the Megamall complex.

The MMDA will be continuing this initiative at other SM Supermalls, with upcoming installations at SM Mall of Asia and SM North EDSA. According to MMDA chairman Atty. Don Artes, the live traffic updates will also be expanded to include the rest of Metro Manila.

With the EDSA Rehabilitation Project set to start on December 24, these live traffic feeds should be helpful for those traversing the highway. Construction will start with the segments between Roxad Boulevard and Orense. The first two weeks of the project will focus on the EDSA Busway, with the rest of the highway following over the next eight months.
The number-coding scheme is expected remain unchanged throughout the construction period. If you recall, an odd-even scheme was proposed during the first iteration of the rehab project—thankfully, that idea was axed, as well as the original three-year plan.
