MMDA to install and repair signage, concrete barriers along major thoroughfares

Need to drive around the metro over the next few days? Then take note: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is currently installing, repairing, and removing signage and concrete barriers around the city.

The MMDA’s activities cover busy areas in Metro Manila, including major thoroughfares such as EDSA and C5. The agency didn’t announce any lane or street closures, but it’ll be safer to expect traffic in these areas to be heavier than usual in the coming days.

February 4

From 6am to 6am of the following day

  • Installation of concrete barriers between Heritage and P. Celle U-Turn slots along EDSA (northbound)
  • Installation of concrete barriers along Marcos Highway fronting Salve Regina Hospital and Gil Fernando Avenue U-turn slot in Marikina
  • Replacement and retrieval of damaged plastic barriers along EDSA

From 9am onwards

  • Installation of informative traffic road signage at EDSA-Ortigas Avenue and Shaw Boulevard (southbound)
  • Removal of overhead informative signs from MMDA footbridges and gantries along C5

February 5

From 6am to 6am of the following day

  • Installation of concrete barriers at EDSA–P. Celle U-turn slot (northbound towards Taft Avenue intersection)
  • Segregation of usable and dilapidated plastic barriers at TEC-RSU EDSA/Quezon base in Quezon City

  • Installation of concrete barriers at EDSA–P. Celle U-turn slot (northbound toward Taft Avenue intersection)
  • Retrieval and replacement of damaged plastic barriers along C5 (from Commonwealth Avenue to Aurora Boulevard)

From 8am to 5pm

  • Installation of concrete barriers at EDSA–P. Celle U-turn slot (northbound toward Taft Avenue intersection)

February 8

From 6am to 6am of the following day

  • Installation of concrete barriers at EDSA–Tramo Boulevard (northbound toward Malibay)
  • Retrieval and replacement of damaged plastic barriers along C5 (from Aurora Boulevard to Eastwood area, both north and southbound)

Februrary 9

From 6am to 6am of the following day

  • Installation of concrete barriers at EDSA-Tramo Boulevard (northbound towards Malibay)
  • Retrieval and replacement of damaged plastic barriers along C5 (from Eastwood area to Ortigas Avenue intersection)
