Undas 2024: MPTC adds medical and emergency measures to NLEX and other tollways

Metro Pacific Tollways (MPTC) is gearing up for the long weekend across all its expressways this Undas 2024. The Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko (SMSK) program is in full effect to ensure motorists and their vehicles are taken care of.

Motorists heading on NLEX (and NLEX Connector), SCTEX, CALAX, and CCLEX can expect more personnel and heightened safety measures to guide the flow of traffic to a faster, safer pace. Roadwork and lane closures will also be suspended up until November 4.

MPTC urges drivers to download the MPT DriveHub app which should help them plan their trips. The app provides real-time traffic updates to help motorists discern on the best times to leave and routes to take. MPTC has also identified the windows which will likely have the heaviest traffic this weekend.

Those heading northbound on October 31 from 6am to 10pm and on November 1 from 5am to 2pm should expect extra heavy traffic. For drivers heading to Metro Manila, the highest volume of traffic should be on November 2, 3pm to 10pm, and November 3, 2pm up until the next day, November 4, 8am.

MPT DriveHub also features emergency roadside assistance for drivers in distress. And as part of the SMSK program, MPTC is offering a free towing service for Class 1 vehicles that will take them up to the nearest exit. This free service is already in effect and will be available up until 6am on November 4.

Distressed drivers, and their companions can also receive health consultations and medical advice at various rest stops along MPTC expressways. Courtesy of, mWell, booths with medical teams will be ready to aid travelers. Maynilad will also be handing out free bottled water while Smart will be setting up WiFi and charging stations.

As always, before entering any expressway, drivers need to make sure their RFID stickers are functional, and their balances are sufficient. Drivers can reload their Easytrip RFID balance through the MPT DriveHub app, and use the included toll fee calculator to make sure their balance will be sufficient.
