According to the NLEX Corporation, its expressway is set to receive a number of maintenance and road improvements throughout 2025. If you’ve recently traversed NLEX, you might have noticed that certain sections are being refurbished with a fresh layer of asphalt, with select sections of the SCTEX also undergoing a similar renovation. This is just the latest in a series of initiatives the tollway plans to complete throughout the year.

Just last month, NLEX likewise announced that it is investing P1.4 billion in more license plate readers and stronger RFID equipment for its toll plazas.

By May 2025, new road signs should be installed throughout the expressway, and toll booths should also undergo renovations. NLEX is also planning to give bridge parapets, toll plaza barriers, concrete dividers, and all other road infrastructure a fresh coat of paint.

Concurrently, repairs on guardrails and fences around the toll booths will be done to reinforce security over the 315 lanes on the expressway. NLEX has yet to announce when these specific projects will kick off.
