The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) has been a huge pain point for motorists over the past week. Following the incident that compromised the Marilao Interchange Bridge, NLEX Corporation had to close lanes and open a counterflow lane to make way for the ongoing repairs.
The bad news is that it would take two weeks in total. The good news now, though, is that all four lanes have finally been reopened, so this should ease traffic by a lot.

The official statement reads: “We are pleased to announce that all four lanes of Marilao Northbound are now passable to vehicles since 1 a.m. of March 26, 2025, ahead of the projected schedule. While all lanes are now passable, supporting steel poles will remain on the lanes to allow concrete curing of the bridge. With this development, traffic flow in Marilao Northbound is expected to improve and normalize in the next few days.”

The accelerated repairs could have the bridge completed in less than two weeks. NLEX Corporation also said that it will facilitate the entire process so that even deliveries of the materials needed could be expedited.
In case you missed it, the incident that caused all this involved a truck that couldn’t fit underneath the bridge. It supposedly violated regulations and that was why it hit the bridge and compromised both its stability and the safety of other road users. This whole fiasco serves as a reminder that when you’re driving a large vehicle, always be mindful of its vertical clearance.
