The ongoing rally organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo will be extended until Thursday, July 2, 2026. This comes after the religious group secured another permit from the local government unit of Quezon City; however, an additional memorandum of understanding (MOU) has also been signed to ensure the orderliness of the demonstration.

According to the MOU shared by the Philippine Star, participants can only assemble along White Plains Avenue, and the event stage must be situated 200 meters away from the People Power Monument.

Notably, vehicles parked along EDSA and White Plains Avenue must also be removed. This has become a recurring issue since the rally started on June 30, as multiple segments on EDSA have been blocked by parked buses and private vehicles.

The official document then concludes with the following stipulation: “Likewise, all activity should not impede the security measures implemented by the Quezon City Police District and the City’s Law and Order Cluster, nor the normal flow of traffic during the entire activity, as determined by the Traffic and Transport Management Department and the Metro Manila Development Authority.”

Regarding the demonstration proper, the same guidelines will be enforced during tomorrow’s rally. These include keeping the program within White Plains Avenue and Temple Drive, holding the event from 8am to 8pm only, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the day.

Separate reports have shared that the religious group originally requested a four-day permit, which would’ve been valid until Friday, July 3. Representatives from Quezon City clarified that permits are issued on a per-day basis, suggesting that demonstrators will need to apply once more.

UPDATE, 1 July 2026, 8:45pm: The Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety has revoked the rally permit issued to the Iglesia Ni Cristo, citing “severe difficulties being experienced by the general public due to the conduct of the rally along EDSA and White Plains Avenue.” Stay tuned for more updates.
