NLEX Corporation would really like it if you jumped into the cashless RFID bandwagon, so much so that it’s has opened installation and reloading lanes to help convince you to make the jump.
In a statement, the company said that it has opened RFID lane installation and reloading sites at the following toll plazas:
- Balintawak
- Bocaue
- Mindanao
- Karuhatan
- Angeles
In addition to these, installation and reloading at the following rest and gas stations have reopened:
- NLEX Drive and Dine
- Petron Marilao
- Petron Bocaue
- Shell Burol
The installation and reloading lanes and sites will be open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 5pm. While the RFID stickers themselves are free of charge, motorists will be required to load a minimum amount upon installation. Check out the minimum load amounts per class of vehicle below:
- Class 1 – P500
- Class 2 – P1,000
- Class 3 – P1,000
Alternatively, motorists can also install RFID stickers by themselves via the company’s Stick-It-Yourself RFID program. Here, Class 1 motorists may order their RFID sticker online and install it by following the positioning and installation guide included with it. Stick-It-Yourself RFIDs may also be bought at select NLEX-SCTEX toll booths at the following plazas:
- Meycauayan (Southbound)
- Marilao (Southbound)
- Bocaue Interchange (Southbound exit)
- Balagtas
- San Fernando (Northbound)
- Dinalupihan
- Tarlac
“We recognize the significant role of digital technology in enhancing customer experience and preventing the spread of COVID-19. Aside from promoting safety, the improvements in RFID would translate to faster and more convenient electronic transactions in our expressway network,” Luigi Bautista, NLEX Corporation president, said in a recent statement.
