On this week’s edition of ‘Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes,’ a rider caught on camera doing wheelies on public roads was summoned by the Land Transportation Office.

The rider in question was clearly not wearing the proper riding gear, as also pointed out by the LTO. He was wearing slippers and what appears to be a substandard helmet. If you look closely enough, you’ll also notice that his motorcycle also didn’t have side mirrors. What is safety?

Now, hear us out: Wheelies (or any motorcycle stunt for that matter) are cool and all, but only if they’re done in the right place and at the right time. This unruly behavior in discussion not only puts the rider at risk, but also other innocent and law-abiding road users.

The LTO has now put the motorcycle used in the video under alarm and has suspended the driver’s license of the rider. To make matters worse, the agency discovered that the motorcycle here also wasn’t registered. Yikes.

We couldn’t agree more, but we also can’t help but think about how people never learn. The agency has been summoning erring motorists left and right, and it even has a dedicated website for reports regarding these, yet people continue to do these things and post them on social media. That being said, hopefully, this serves as a reminder to all rowdy motorcycle riders that whether or not there’s somebody watching, there’s a time and place for stunts like these.
