SM Prime has officially counted 131 EV charging stations across its multiple commercial and residential real estate developments. This also includes the first outdoor and continuously operational Tesla V4 Supercharging station in the Philippines, located at the south wing of SM Mall of Asia.
Having been officially accredited as an Electric Vehicle Charging Station Provider-Operator by the Department of Energy (DOE), SM Prime has committed to adding 50 more charging stations by year’s end, bringing the total to 181 stations. The property developer plans to install more stations at its residential and leisure-forward projects.

SM Prime’s expanded EV charging network aims to contribute to the government’s goal of adopting more sustainable mobility solutions and to make those solutions more accessible to everyday citizens. As said by SM Prime president, Jeffery Lim: “We are focused on making sustainability practical and accessible. Expanding our EV charging network is one way we are enabling Filipinos to adopt greener habits as part of daily life.”

Last month, the DOE announced its long-term target to have 7,000 EV charging stations in the Philippines by 2028. In the same announcement, the DOE confirmed that there are already 912 active stations around the country.
Since then, ACMobility has opened 16 charging stations in Cebu, while committing to open 19 more throughout the region. Other conglomerates like the Gokongwei Group, and now SM Prime, have also started to expand their own EV charging networks, with the former announcing a five-year, 2,000 charging point project with Wuling Philippines.
Aside from its lone charging station with Tesla, SM Prime has yet to partner up with any major automotive manufacturer to build its charging network. Tesla Philippines has continued building its own network, with other stations in Eastwood City, Shangri-La Plaza, and Bonifacio Global City—suggesting an exclusive partnership with a single developer is not in the cards.
