If you’re traveling south these holidays, take note that you can do so along some major expressways free of charge. SMC Tollways, the outfit behind SLEX, NAIA Expressway, TPLEX, Skyway, and Star Tollway, has announced it will waive toll fees on these thoroughfares this holiday season. Check out their official tweet below.
So from 10pm on December 24 to 6am on December 25, and from 10pm on December 31 to 6am on January 1, 2020, you can traverse the aforementioned expressways free of charge. If you want to take a jaunt to or from the metro this holiday season, it looks like your best bet is to do it in the dead of night when the roads are clear and free. Considering how bad the traffic has been going to and from the south recently, traveling at night doesn’t seem like such a bad idea.
And if you get hungry along the way, why not check out the first-ever dual-lane drive-thru Jollibee in the country? The fast food giant’s 1,200th branch just opened up along SLEX, so it’s worth checking out if you happen to get peckish in the middle of the night.
