The third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will take place on July 22, 2024. Ahead of the event, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has released its traffic management plan, including alternate routes that motorists can take to bypass the roads around Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
Beginning 8am of July 22, Batasan-IBP Road will be closed to vehicular traffic, but if you’re coming from the area or passing through Commonwealth Avenue from Fairview, make sure to leave well before that time as security measures will be put in place at key points surrounding the venue. For vehicles of government officials and guests heading to Batasang Pambansa, there will be a zipper lane on the southbound direction of Commonwealth Avenue.
