Mark your calendars: The white-colored beep card will be made available to all students on September 15, 2025. With this special beep card, the 50% fare discount that students are entitled to will be automatically applied at the turnstile.
Before this, students needed to line up at the station office and present their school ID to a ticketing officer. In that process, only discounted single-journey tickets were available, which forced students to endure time-consuming queues at the start of their commutes.
The white-colored beep card was also previously exclusive to only senior citizens and PWDs. But starting September 15, the card will include students and the increased 50% discount, which will run until 2028.

Students will just need to present their valid school ID or registration form to any station office along the LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 train lines to purchase their new white beep card. The card will be valid for one year, and students will be allowed to renew their card every school year.
The Department of Transportation noted that the personalized white beep cards will be printed ‘on the spot,’ ensuring that there will be no shortage of cards. The agency previously ordered 300,000 more cards to resolve the ongoing shortage, while announcing that it will be cracking down on hoarders and scalpers.
