As you may have already heard, another road rage incident—this time from Subic—went viral on social media over the weekend. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has since ordered an investigation on the matter and has now made some significant progress on the case.

The agency has identified the driver as a female resident of Morong, Bataan and has issued a 90-day suspension on her driver’s license. As for the registered owner, the LTO pinpointed a female resident of Makati City. LTO Region III has now also issued a show-cause order against both the driver and the registered owner of the Toyota Fortuner. Said vehicle with MV file number Z7N88 will also be put on the alarm list.

“We already identified the driver of the SUV and she was already directed to submit a notarized explanation and was also directed to appear in the ongoing investigation of the LTO-Region III,” said LTO chief Atty. Vigor Mendoza. “Personal kong tututukan ang kasong ito dahil ang ganitong asal ay hindi gawain ng isang matinong motorista.”

Both female individuals identified have seven days from receiving the order to comply, and if they fail to do so, it’ll be considered admission of the allegations against them. They also need to appear personally at a hearing at the LTO Region III office on March 1.

As for a summary of what exactly happened, here’s an excerpt from the LTO’s official press release:

“Citing the initial result of the investigation which is also based on the coordination with the local police, the incident happened at around 10:30am on February 17 along Binictican Road within the vicinity of Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

“The Hyundai Eon was reportedly traveling on the road when the driver of the Toyota Fortuner tried to overtake but was later forced to suddenly stop.

“The driver then vented her anger to the Hyundai Eon which was reportedly being driven by a male senior citizen by repeatedly hitting it using reverse gear while the passengers were still onboard. She then sped off the vehicle after the incident.”
