A while back, there were talks about a new Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange that’ll soon rise in the metro. Now, the government has broken ground for the new facility, and there are new important developments.

Firstly and most important, it’ll be called TCITX. Not TITX, not TITEx, and definitely not TITE—just TCITX. Second is that construction is just about to begin, and it’s slated for completion in 2028.

To those unfamiliar, the TCITX is a terminal that integrates multiple transport lines including the still-under-construction North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) and Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP).

The terminal will span five hectares and will can accommodate up to 160,000 passengers and 5,200 vehicles daily.

“This project will be instrumental in decongesting major thoroughfares and offering a smoother journey for the riding public,” said DOTr secretary Jaime Bautista. “We eagerly anticipate its completion and operational launch in the first quarter of 2028.”

The terminal will also be a hub that connects to Ayala Land’s Arca South Estate, which is said to become a new major convergence hub for public and private transport. “With seamless connections to the subway and railway systems, provincial and city buses, as well as the Jeepney AUV terminal, Arca South is set to become a vital transit-oriented destination,” the press release reads.
