Sounds too good to be true?

Pepsi Hataw Araw-Araw

If you thought Pepsi Max's Jeff Gordon gimmick was good, this marketing promo by Pepsi Philippines is even better. Called "Pepsi Hataw Araw-Araw," the contest will have the soda company giving away one brand-new Mitsubishi Mirage every day for the next 45 days. That's right--Pepsi is giving away 45 Mirage units to lucky customers.

The game is simple: Just buy any bottled Pepsi-Cola product (Pepsi Regular, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Light, Pepsi Blue, Mirinda, 7-Up, Mug and Mountain Dew) and get the eight-character code under the specially marked crown or cap. Canned products are not included in the promo. And then text "PEPSI" plus the code (for example, PEPSI 1374G72G) to 2929. All prepaid and post-paid mobile-phone numbers are eligible to join, according to the contest rules.

How to know if you're a winner?

According to the mechanics: "A potential grand prize winner will be notified by call within 24 hours and by registered mail from an authorized BBDO Guerrero representative."

Smart and Globe subscribers will get charged P2.50 per text, while Sun subscribers will get billed P2.00 per text. Guess the money that Pepsi will collect from all the text entries will help fund the car prizes.

The promo started yesterday, March 15, and will run until April 28, 2013.

Other prizes aside from the 45 Mirage units are 90 iPad Minis, 90 Samsung S3s, 90 Canon D20s, 120 Pizza Hut gift certificates, and 120 Max's gift certificates.

Let's just hope this promo runs and wraps up without a snag. Remember the Pepsi 349 Number Fever scandal?
