TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Qatar government shows off its Porsche police cars in parade

Every December 18, Qatar celebrates its National Day to commemorate its unification and independence. The most recent one, however, should be a memorable one for Porschephiles as the oil-rich country paraded the Porsches that are part of its police's fleet.

Although we didn't see a 911 Turbo or GT3 in the parade, the country does seem to have a lot of Panameras and Cayennes.

The Qatar's affinity for Porsches, however, isn't strange. Government unit Qatar Investment Authority, owns 10 percent of Porsche as well as 17 percent of Volkswagen.
