Lamborghini is enlisting three of its factory drivers to race at the upcoming SRO E-sport GT Series Championship 2020.
Andrea Caldarelli, last year’s Blancpain GT Series overall champion and 2020 Daytona 24 Hours winner, will race in the Orange1 FFF Racing Team Huracan GT3 EVO sporting No. 63. Dennis Lind will race in the same vehicle, campaigning with No. 563. Meanwhile, 2019 International GT Open winner Alberto Costa will race in the Emil Frey Racing-liveried Huracan with No. 163.
The SRO E-Sports GT Series is the official online racing championship of SRO Motorsports Group, the promoters of the GT World Challenge Europe. This year’s championship will run five rounds, four of which will be held at predetermined circuits with the last to be selected by public vote. After the five rounds, a grand final will be staged.
Real-world racers and professional sim-racers will compete in the Pro class and Silver Cup, respectively, while there will be a public qualifier for the Am class. The first round of the Pro class and Silver Cup is set to happen this weekend, April 26, 2020. You can refer to the full schedule and the corresponding circuits below:
- Round 1, April 26: Silverstone
- Round 2, May 10: Total 24 Hours of Spa
- Round 3, May 17: Nurburgring
- Round 4, May 31: Barcelona
- Round 5, June 14: Circuit to be determined by public vote
- Grand Final: Date and location to be announced
In addition to the three aforementioned drivers who will compete in the Pro class, FFF Esports—FFF Racing’s new digital division—will also participate in the Silver Cup and will be represented by Jaroslav Honzik and Kamil Franczak. These two will be joined by former F1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi who will race as a wildcard in the No. 19 Orange1 FFF Racing Team Huracan GT3 EVO.
