In last year’s Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR), it was Toyota that ran away with the title. Mitsubishi, on the other hand, had its fair share of struggles. One of the entries suffered a mechanical fault, while the other ended up in fifth.
Hungry for redemption, Ralliart is seeking a better result in this year’s AXCR. If anything, the team is very excited to join this year as it has revealed its rally truck for the new season.

It is, of course, still the Mitsubishi Triton, but there are a couple of tweaks to it.

A new season means a new livery. The red and white theme is still very much present, but the graphics are more vivid this time around. It also helps that it has Ralliart plastered on its flanks. More notably, we see a shortened bed, likely to cut weight and improve handling.

The Mitsubishi Triton rally truck will compete in the T1 class of AXCR. T1 is the top class of the series, Although rules state that the vehicle must be close to stock. One can say that they can build their own Triton T1, provided they have the time, and more importantly, budget.
So, what sets it apart from your standard Triton? There’s a little more power under the hood, although the exact figure isn’t disclosed. Of course, the interior is stripped out, and it gets a beefier suspension arrangement to cope with the demands of competition. But the most important upgrade for the 2025 rally car is for engine durability, improvements we might see in the production models.

AXCR 2025 will kick off on August 8 in Pattaya, Thailand. The total distance this year is estimated to be at 2,500km over various terrain such as mountainous passes, dense forest areas, and river crossings.
