Toyota has revealed that it will run a sports car research vehicle based on the Lexus LFA at the Nurburgring 24 Hours Endurace Race, which will take place in June. Toyota made the announcement at the opening of the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon today at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall.
Called the Gazoo Racing Lexus LFA Code X, it \"has been created to enable study of future sports-car technologies.\"
Powering the car is the same V10 engine of the standard LFA, with the engine displacement bumped up to 5.3 liters. The engine\'s unspecified output and torque have reportedly been fine-tuned to better suit the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit. Other enhancements to the car include a full-carbon frame that enhances the body\'s rigidity while reducing the vehicle\'s weight.
Can you imagine what it\'s like to drive such a race car?
