A fun weekend of racing

It was another exciting weekend for Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), as the Japanese carmaker delivered its Vios Cup extravaganza at Filinvest, Alabang. The venue was a little different compared to the event's usual haunt at Clark International Speedway, but the action was no less thrilling for fans.

“I am very pleased to see the program has developed our Vios Cup racers and their level of driving skills these past years. This is seen in how a number of drivers have upgraded from racing in the promotional class to the sporting class and even battling it out in the international arena," TMP president Satoru Suzuki said before the race.

In the Celebrity Class, Kapamilya Cutie Diego Loyzaga took the top spot in the first race, while Troy Montero came first in the second one. Their impressive performances were followed closely by Brazilian-Japanese model and Vios Cup veteran Fabio Ide, who finished second in both races.

Next up in the Promotional Class, sportscaster Jinno Rufino won the first race, while Brian Currie of Toyota Cebu took first place the following race. The Sporting Class, meanwhile, saw Victor Buensuceso of Toyota Makati and Lord Seno of Toyota Cebu emerge victorious. Finally, Estefano Rivera of Team Obengers and Bryan Co of Team Biskeg won Races 1 and 2 of the Super Sporting Class.

The Toyota Vios Cup has one more leg remaining for the year, so stay tuned for details on that.
