Motor Image Pilipinas has brought in the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI lineup which includes the much-awaited six-speed manual transmission sedan variant.
The new Impreza sedan and hatchback were developed under Subaru's concept of coming up with "the fastest WRX STI ever" with both variants boasting a "more advanced driving performance due to a finely tuned suspension."
"To attain such superior performance, the model underwent repeated testing at the Nurburgring track in Germany as well as in Japan, which served to refine the essential nature of the car as a true driver's car that offers 'total driving control' with a high level of cornering performance, secure and supreme sure handling, and overall vehicle stability," Motor Image Pilipinas said.
The distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines said the following changes were among the factors which improved the performance and design of the Impreza WRX STI:
- A complete revision of the overall suspension setup and the reduction of the vehicle's height to provide high-precision handling
- Adjustments in the specifications of the sub-frame bushings of the rear suspension to boost toe and camber rigidity, which results in increased vehicle responsiveness and road-hugging capability
- Specialized tuning for front and rear dampers for secure road-holding capability
- Inclusion of a new aluminum lower arm in the front suspension and a pillow-ball type for the rear arm bushes for better handling performance
