TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Team Land Rover Philippines finishes 2011 Malaysia Rain Forest Challenge in third place

Pinoy pride Team Air Asia-Land Rover Philippines finished in third place at the Rainforest Challenge Malaysia 2011, which was cut short due to torrential rains.

The Philippine team actually had a shot at finishing in second or even grabbing the top prize if organizers did not decide to cancel the last day of the event due to the weather.

The cancellation saw the remaining teams unable to score more points from the special stages that were set to be run that day. Only 143 points separated the top five teams from one another, with Team Air Asia-Land Rover Philippines just behind by 51 points from the race winner, Melaka Motorsports from Melaka, Malaysia.

Team Air Asia-Land Rover Philippines is composed of driver Larry Mendiola, co-driver/winchman Hirrryan Mendiola and Yellow Eagle, a modified 3.9-liter Land Rover Defender 90. Congratulations, guys!
