Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber won his first victory after seven seasons in Formula One.

Webber showed dominance at the Nürburgring leg of the season that he managed to shrug off a drive-through penalty for causing a collision with Brawn GP's Rubens Barrichello when they went into the first corner side by side at the start of the race.

"It was testing to get the victory today (Sunday in Germany), I lost Rubens completely at the start; I thought he was gone a little bit to the left so I went to the right and banged into him. That's not normally my style," Webber said in a statement on his website .

Barrichello led the first few laps with Webber right behind him, but the Brawn driver's inability to quicken his pace doomed his performance. Bitter Barrichello finished sixth and later blamed his team for the lost chance of a better performance.

Sebastian Vettel joined Webber at the podium as Red Bull posted its third 1-2 finish this season.

Felipe Massa landed on third place and gave Ferrari its second podium finish this year.

Fourth-placer Nico Rosberg's consistently improving performance thus far has undoubtedly attracted the attention of other teams. This should be a cause of concern for WilliamsF1 if the team wants to keep him after his contract expires by the end of the year.

While he still managed to earn some points, a fifth-place finish doesn't bode well for Brawn GP's Jenson Button. His lead in the driver's championship has narrowed to 22.5 points.

Webber's win has turned the race for the drivers' championship into a four-way race. Although Button is sill in the lead with 68 points, only a combined total of three points separates Webber from fellow contenders Barrichello and Vettel.

Red Bull Racing has also trimmed Brawn GP's lead in the constructor's championship to 19.5 points. With Toyota at a far third, it's is looking to be a two-way fight between the erstwhile Honda F1 outfit and the energy drink company.
