Is CATS Motors, the distributor of Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler vehicles, bringing in the Geely brand of cars from China?

A member in an online automotive forum recently said he saw two Geely cars, specifically the CK and Gleagle Panda, parked right in front of CATS' pre-owned lot along EDSA near Greenhills in San Juan. Another member then chimed in shortly, saying that he or she spotted an unidentified Geely sedan being looked over in the service area of the Mazda Greenhills dealership. Incidentally, the Mazda Greenhills dealership is owned by CATS Motors.

While no one from within the company would confirm or deny that the Chinese carmaker would be the latest brand it plans to introduce in the country this year, a source who refused to be identified categorically denied that CATS Motors will bring in Geely to the local market.

"Geely is not CATS," the source told TopGear.com.ph.

So, it's either CATS Motors is officially not bringing in Geely as part of its 2011 expansion or the Chinese carmaker will be brought in through another company that's not in any way associated with CATS Motors.
