Mazda officially unveiled the all-new Mazda 6 at the 2012 Moscow Motor Show a week ago. The public, however, only saw the sedan variant. It's at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, which will open later this month, that the Japanese carmaker will hold the world premiere of the wagon variant, with the sedan model joining it onstage.
For the European market, the Mazda 6, in both sedan and wagon versions, will come with the same 2.0- and 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engines that were offered to the Russian market. Besides these two engines, the all-new 6 will also be available with a 2.2-liter, Euro 6-compliant, clean-diesel Skyactiv-D engine in either standard power or high-power form.
Though Mazda forgot to mention the power output of the two diesel-engine variants, these could very well be the same two engine choices that power the CX-5, rated at 147hp and 380Nm or 173hp and 420Nm.
We can only imagine what engine we'll get if and when Mazda's new Philippine-market distributor, Berjaya Auto Philippines, brings in the all-new Mazda 6 to our market.
