The Aston Martin DB5, which has appeared in seven James Bond movies from 1964's Goldfinger to 2015's Spectre, topped the list of greatest movie cars of all time, according to a survey of 2,000 UK respondents. Yes, we allow that this may have been a patriotic choice for the Brits, but we do agree that 007's customized DB5 ranks high on our gearheads' catalog of the most memorable cars on film.

The eponymous four-wheeled star of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang took second place, followed by Doc's DeLorean DMC-12 in the Back to the Future trilogy. Herbie, the Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle featured in five Herbie films, came fourth. The Tumbler, aka the Batmobile in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises, completed the top five; it was one of three versions of the Batmobile on the list.

The survey was commissioned by Hyundai ahead of the UK release of Ant-Man and the Wasp, which features the Kona, the new Veloster, and the upcoming Santa Fe. Cars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that got the respondents' vote include Tony Stark's Audi R8 (Iron Man) and Acura NSX (The Avengers), and Hank Pym's Triumph Spitfire (Ant-Man).

Respondents also ranked their favorite car-chase scenes, with the sequences from The Italian Job, Bullitt, and The French Connection taking the first, second, and third spots, respectively. The ideal car chase, respondents said, should last four minutes and 23 seconds on average, and should include near-misses, cars driving into oncoming traffic, crashes, police pursuit.

Here's the full top-40 list. Are there any other movie cars that you think should be included?
