Have you seen the news today? Then you may have heard that Tom Brady, NFL superstar (and arguably the greatest to ever do it), is officially retiring after 22 seasons.
Rightfully so, as the former New Englands Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has had a stellar career that spanned more than two decades. Brady has seven Super Bowl titles and five Super Bowl MVPs, five NFL MVPs, and several other accolades under his belt.
What many of you might not have known about the GOAT, however, is that once upon a time, he also had a go at designing no less than an Aston Martin.
Back in 2017, Q by Aston Martin worked together with the then Patriots QB to create the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante S Tom Brady Signature Edition, a mouthful of an ultra-rare sports car of which only 12 were made. The number not only matched Brady’s jersey number but also the number of cylinders in this Aston—it packed a 6.0-liter 580hp V12.
The convertible was built with an Ultramarine Black exterior and a Dark Night interior. It featured Brady’s signature on the metal door sill plates as well as Tom Brady’s TB12 logo by the front fenders to go along with the gold Aston Martin badges. Brady was also said to have helped choose the color combination for the car.
At the time of release, the Tom Brady Signature Edition was priced at $360,000 (about P18.9 million based on the USD-PHP exchange rate from 2018). Now that Brady is officially calling it quits, we can only expect the prices of these cars to skyrocket in the coming years. Consider this a heads up to the, well, 12 people in the world who actually own one of these.
