In the Southeast Asian automotive world, popular car models that surface in Thailand are almost always guaranteed to make their way to the Philippines as well. Late last year, Honda revealed the facelifted Civic in the Thai market, and at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show, we got to take a closer look at the new compact sedan that might land in our shores soon.

The first thing you might notice is the paint. The new shade is called Brilliant Sporty Blue, and its metallic hue looks really good on the Civic. As for aesthetic tweaks, the updates here are minor. Up front are a revised grille and foglight housings, while inside the RS variant, Honda has added a physical volume knob on the infotainment system and faux wood on the dash. The steering wheel and the seats also get pronounced red stitching; in the latter, it’s accompanied by a racing check pattern.

The biggest change from the old model is the addition of Honda Sensing. This suite of safety features include a collision mitigation system, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beam. Under the hood, the 1.5-liter turbo and the 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine options from the previous iteration remain.

So, do you dig the refreshed Civic? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
