It took some time, but Mitsubishi Motors Philippines was finally able to lend us a test unit of its much-awaited seven-seater, the Xpander. It's been in the market for a few months now, and we've had the chance to drive the model a few times, but this was our first time with the vehicle over an extended period. So, what do we think of this potential market disruptor?

First up, a bit of history is in order. In our video, our editor-in-chief Paulo explains that the Xpander is a replacement of the Adventure, but it is also more than that. It is Mitsubishi's foray into the growing seven-seater subcompact SUV/MPV segment--a segment that also has strong contenders from Honda and Toyota. The Xpander and it's ilk cater to those looking for family and people haulers minus the midsize SUV price tag.

The Xpander is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline mill with 103hp and 141nm paired to a four-speed automatic tranny, with the power driven to the front wheels. To find out our thoughts on Mitsu's latest offering, click play on the video above.
