What’s every amateur chef’s worst nightmare? We’re not sure—we’re motoring journalists, not food writers. We reckon, though, that receiving a critical beatdown from Gordon Ramsay on television has to be in the running, right?

Why bring this up? Well, because we’ve got a little throwback treat for you courtesy of Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson era: Gordon Ramsay critiquing dishes cooked using an automobile engine from way back in 2011.

So, what’s on the menu? Dish number one is a turkey breast and porcini mushrooms garnished with winter sprouts cooked with a Subaru Forester. Clarkson’s followed this up with a baby rack of lamb with vegetables, and a wild salmon dish with lemon on a bed of thyme—all slowly done at 3,000rpm for two hours.

The dude didn’t even get to try the turkey, and he mentions a hint of petrol in the dishes, too, which makes perfect sense considering all of these meals were cooked, well, on top of a running engine.
