Green infographics: How does your car affect your carbon footprint?

Let us give you an estimate
by Patrick Everett Tadeo | Aug 29, 2014

Carbon footprint, as described by TimeforChange.org, is the "sum of all emissions of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, which were induced by our activities in a given time frame." It could be anything from the production of the food we eat to our daily commute.

Using the carbon footprint calculator on CarbonFootprint.com, we estimate the carbon footprint generated by different forms of transportation varying in distance per year, from simple commutes to the office, to occasional out-of-town (and even out-of-the-country) trips. We even compare the vehicles' carbon footprints to that of an average household.

Now, if these computations are correct, can we just say that we're surprised that an average hybrid car is more fuel-efficient than a big motorbike that displaces over 500cc?

Check out the infographics below.
