If suburban life has gotten too monotonous for you, an interesting solution has just shown up at SEMA 2025. Enter the Honda Odyssey Type R.
The first half of its name is clean and calm—a reliable minivan with more than enough space for a couple of kids and a week’s worth of groceries. Now, the other half? That inspires excitement, fun, and six-speed manual goodness. Could this be the best of both worlds?
Obviously, this is not an official offering from Honda, but rather the creation of Bisimoto Engineering, a tuning house based in Ontario, California. They have ripped out of the heart of a standard Odyssey and replaced it with the 2.0-liter four-pot found in the latest Civic Type R. The standard turbocharger has been swapped with a Mitsubishi Stage 2, giving this minivan a ludicrous 550hp.

As mentioned, the stock transmission has been replaced with the Civic Type R’s six-speed manual gearbox, which also includes the +R driving mode. Bisimoto has then added a limited-slip differential, along with an active damper system—just in case you wanted to do some donuts while waiting for soccer practice to end. And speaking of burning rubber, official 19-inch Type R wheels are shod in new Toyo tires.
Bisimoto has retained most of the interior, along with the Odyssey’s software. Honda Sensing and the rest of the car’s safety systems are still onboard. Doesn’t sound like a bad family car, huh?
