At long last, it’s finally out: Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the all-new Toyota Hilux.
This next-generation model is the first of the IMV triumvirate to get a full model change for this generation. The design has been heavily reworked, with thin headlamps flanking a black plastic trim. The latter has an embossed Toyota nameplate. In the electrified version, a body-color panel adorns the front fascia, while the non-electrified variants get a traditional mesh grille. The inside looks like a proper next-gen Toyota, with a boxier, more modern-looking interior.

New for this generation is the fully electric variant, the Travo-e. Not a plug-in nor a self-charging hybrid, but a full EV. This setup comprises a 59.2kWh lithium-ion battery powering the 205Nm front and 268.6Nm rear motors. Total system output is listed at 193hp. Claimed EV range is “over 300km” while charging times are supposedly best-in-class with both AC and DC charging available, so that should make living with the pickup a little more convenient.
It can still be spec’d with a familiar 2.8-liter turbodiesel that puts out 201hp and 500Nm of torque. It’s the same GD engine, but Toyota claims it has slight improvements in fuel efficiency.

The all-new Toyota Hilux measures 5,320mm long, 1,855mm wide, and 1,800mm tall with a 3,085mm wheelbase. It comes equipped with the full Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. It also gets a multi-terrain select and monitor functions for off-road use.
We’ll be back with more information and photos as we have them, but this is your first look for now. We’re sure it’s only a matter of time before this new model lands on our shores—sometime in 2026, to be a little more precise—and we’re just as excited as you all are.
