No, this isn’t a kit car: it’s a 1985 Ferrari Testarossa which, a year after leaving the factory, was modified by German tuner Koenig Specials, with the resultant project dubbed the ‘Competition Evolution II.’ Spoiler alert: it’s a bit wild.

The 4.9-liter flat-12 has been uprated to an estimated 689hp, courtesy of a pair of turbochargers, bigger intercoolers, and an updated engine management system. You’ll also spot the now centrally-positioned dual exhaust to channel the increased decibels, which you’ll orchestrate using a gated five-speed manual.

Other bits and pieces include Koni shock absorbers, H&R springs, and bigger AP racing brakes. But should you feel these upgrades are a bit wasted on just 690hp, Koenig can uprate the engine to push close to a thousand horsepower… in a near-40-year-old car. Bonkers.

That Veyron-rivalling figure is put to the road by a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires out front and Pirelli P-Zeros out back. We’re not sure why they’re different either, *raised eyebrow*. But we doubt most will notice given there’s so much going on with the rest of the bodywork.

Standout features include dramatically bulged panels, side air intakes, vented arches and a rear wing that wouldn’t seem out of place in the hangars of Luton airport. The headlights also look like they were later pinched by Nissan and adopted by the 300ZX. It works here, though, given how straight and square the remainder of the car is.

The 17,700-kilometer example is currently up for sale on Bring a Trailer, with the most recent bid at $275,000 (P16 million). Seems…quite low for such a poster book car, no? Anyway, you’ve got until Thursday to figure out if you want to dig into your savings or not.
