Ah, the first-gen Mitsubishi Lancer. Back in the day, these cars used to be everywhere. Now? Coming across one in decent shape, if at all, is like seeing a unicorn.
This is exactly the reason seeing three of them together in excellent condition was a pretty big deal for us. But the real kicker is that all three Lancers belong to one person: car collector Jun Cobrador. Man, talk about love for the brand.
Jun acquired his first Lancer from his father in the late '80s. After that, he was hooked on the nameplate.
"My wife keeps asking me why I spend so much on this and that. She asks me how much something costs," Jun tells us. "For example, it's P10,000. I just tell her it's P1,000."
Jun also adds that another Lancer is waiting at the shop, so that makes four of them. "In five or six months, that will be another finished project. And I know my wife will get angry at me."
