The Mitsubishi Outlander is back, and it enters a completely different arena than its predecessor did in 2020. Back then, electrified mobility in the Philippines was in its infancy, but today, the Outlander PHEV has a gallery of other hybrid crossovers to compete against.
In the face of competition, Mitsubishi is sticking to its guns. The plug-in hybrid powertrain in this new Outlander isn’t too different from the previous model, and neither is its overall look. For the uninitiated, this particular Outlander really debuted in 2022, but it looks like the brand is still confident it can deliver against newer vehicles.

We’ll get our hands on the 2027 Outlander PHEV in due time, and you can expect reviews, comparos, and perhaps even a new episode of The Big Test then. In the meantime, read on to find out everything you need to know about Mitsubishi’s hybrid crossover.

At launch, the new Outlander is offered in a single variant with an introductory price of P2.749 million. That will be available until September 30, 2026, after which its regular price of P2.848 million will take effect.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines opened the reservation books yesterday, August 20, and interested buyers can visit their local authorized dealership to place their order.
Exterior of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2027:

While it is technically an older model, this Outlander sports an updated fascia with a two-piece grille and chrome accents lining the headlamps. Brushed metal finishes are also found on the bumper and the roof rails.
Around back, the brand’s signature T-shaped taillights are featured on the trunk lid, along with Outlander and PHEV badging at the lower corners. More PHEV emblems have also been placed by the front fenders.

The Outlander is then equipped with 20-inch two-tone rollers, shod in 255/45R20 tires. Stopping power is delivered by dual 18-inch ventilated disc brakes mounted on the front and rear. The suspension system then comprises a MacPherson Strut and a stabilizer bar up front, and a multi-link setup with a similar stabilizer bar at the rear.
In terms of size, the compact crossover approaches mid-size territory with its 4,720mm length, 1,862mm width, and 1,751mm height. Its wheelbase then measures 2,704mm, while its ground clearance is 199mm.
Interior of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2027:

The cabin gets a more luxurious feel with a two-tone color scheme made of black paneling and light gray leather—though it looks closer to white. The leather dresses the seats, as well as select surfaces around the interior. It also features a quilted-looking pattern that adds softness and an additional premium feel.
There is enough room for five passengers, but the middle seat in the second row can fold down to make a wide armrest. Like the relatively new Nissan X-Trail e-Power, the Outlander can be configured like an executive four-seater SUV, with makeshift captain seats in the second row.

For infotainment, a 12.3-inch main display is mounted up front, while audio is channeled through an eight-speaker Yamaha sound system. Drivers and passengers are also treated to a wireless charging pad by the cockpit, along with two USB-C ports up front and another two in the second row. Mitsubishi has also supplied the Outlander with a 12V socket and two 240V power outlets.
One of those outlets is found in the cargo area, along with a tonneau cover. The exact capacity of the trunk is unclear, but the space is generally spacious and features a powered tailgate, to boot.
Engine and specs of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2027:

The Outlander’s plug-in hybrid powertrain is built around dual motors, a 22.7kWh battery, and a 2.4-liter MIVEC engine. Total system output is rated at 302hp and 450Nm of torque, while Mitsubishi claims a combined driving range of nearly 1,000km. Notably, the Outlander also features a purely electric driving range of 100km.
Those components also make up the Outlander’s Super All Wheel Control system. Drivers then have seven modes to play around with, namely: Normal, Eco, Power, Tarmac, Gravel, and Snow.
Extra features of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2027:

Mitsubishi has equipped the Outlander PHEV with the full Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing advanced driving system suite. Functions like adaptive cruise control, driver attention alert, and lane change assist are onboard, while drivers can also utilize a multi-around monitor for better visibility. Active Yaw Control has also been added for better traction and stability.
For increased comfort, the front passenger seats have powered eight-way adjustment settings, with additional heating and cooling features. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also come standard on the Outlander.
Finally, buyers can choose between White Diamond, Red Diamond, and Black Diamond colorways. Let us know what you think of the new Outlander so far.
