History was made in the NBA last week, as the Denver Nuggets hoisted the Larry O’Brien for the first time ever after beating the Miami Heat in what was a seemingly lopsided five-game series. Don’t come at me for that one, Miami fans.
We’re pretty sure many of you watched this year’s Finals, seeing as basketball’s a pretty big sport here on our shores. What we reckon many of you missed, though, was the NBA Finals trophy taking a road trip around Manila City.
“Say what now?”

These photos do not deceive you. The Larry O’Brien trophy which the Nuggets lifted at the end of the Finals (okay, fine, maybe not the exact same one) actually took a jeepney ride around the nation’s capital to see some of the sights it has to offer.
The hardware made its way to Luneta Park and the National Museum. It even got its chance to sit on a random bench in Luneta to grab some sorbetes. Well, sort of.

This is arguably history in the making for the Philippines as well. This is probably the first time any NBA Finals trophy—or perhaps any trophy for that matter—has gone on such a trip around the metro.
