Houston Rockets small forward P.J. Tucker loves sneakers. The dude’s obsession with footwear is crazy even for multimillionaire-athlete standards, so much so that he reportedly spent close to $200,000 on shoes last season. Insane.
Tucker’s also very fond of automobiles. A quick scan through his Instagram account will reveal a number of head-turners: Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Rolls-Royces. The man’s garage is just as impressive as his kicks.
Put two and two together, and you get this:
That’s a custom-made pair of Jordan 3s. Post Oak Motor Cars had these made by sneaker specialist Jake Danklefs to celebrate Tucker’s latest automotive acquisition, a shiny white Rolls-Royce Cullinan with a striking red interior. As you can see, the kicks feature the British luxury carmaker’s double Rs on the tongue, and the inside of the shoe is lined with red fabric.
“When @postoakmotorcars make you some Rolls-Royce Jordan 3s to match your new Cullinan. Thanks for everything fellas. I appreciate it,” Tucker wrote on his Instagram account a few days ago.
“Another first! This time, my first full reconstruction on a Jordan 3 silhouette! Made for my dude @therealpjtucker17 on behalf of the fine people of @postoakmotorcars in Houston. We collaborated on this fine gift to match PJs newest acquisition, the new @rollsroycecars #Cullinan. Luxe white with red interior!” Danklef said in his own post.
A sweet new ride and a hot new pair of Jordans to go with it. What do you think of Tucker’s new pair of shoes?
