If you’re here, then you’ve read that title. You clicked it because it either piqued your interest or got you all fired up in the worst way the moment you saw the headline. Well, if it’s the latter, I suggest you sit down before you read on.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is a Nissan GT-R SUV. An R35 crossover. A Frankenstein’s Godzilla. An SUV R. I don’t even know what to call it—all I know is that it got my attention just as much as it did yours.

This abomination was posted by Larry Chen on social media, and he shared a few details. Apparently, this was built by Roll & Roll (@rollnroll69 on Instagram) from a 2004 Nissan Murano. That’s insane.

Now, whether or not you like or hate this, there’s one thing that cannot be denied: It took a lot of hours and even more effort to put this thing together. In a way, it’s a faithful reimagination of the GT-R, seeing as this ‘SUV R’ was built with original R35 headlights and taillights. heck, even the steering wheel is supposedly original.

There are Nismo seats, carbon-fiber accents, and even a proper GT-R gearshift lever inside as well. There’s a second wing added to the back, which is also why we can’t even begin to imagine how heavy that tailgate has become with the addition of all those plastics.

But honestly, the biggest disappointment here isn’t that the owner turned Godzilla itself into an SUV, but it’s the fact that there’s a regular V6 under the hood of this monstrosity. Not the VR38DETT that you get in the R35, but just the good old VQ35DE. If that’s the correct spec, it’s still a V6, but it’s nowhere near a beast of a powertrain.

At least when Nissan built the Juke R way, way back, the carmaker bothered to give it the GT-R’s engine. Maybe the new powertrains just don’t fit the Murano’s engine bay? Whatever the case may be, the people who built this thing should be proud despite what the internet says.

But what about you guys? What do you think of this Nissan GT-R SUV?
