We’ve seen mobile coffee shops pop up left and right throughout this pandemic. We’ve seen all sorts of vehicles being used as actual coffee stations, from a small motorcycle to a humble Toyota Vios. This last one we just came across, though, is rather interesting.

It’s a Nissan Terra owned by Makki Gabrielle Orprecio and his partner Atty. Rowena Soriano, and it’s the home base of a business venture called Beans Adventures Coffee Station (BACS). What really caught our attention was the Terra’s setup—it seemed a little too extreme for a humble beverage stall.

We then saw photos on social media featuring this same Terra getting dirty off-road, so we decided to get in touch with Orprecio to learn more. We were told this SUV was primarily used for camping and overlanding before it started doubling as a pop-up coffee shop.

What made it even more interesting was that this is a 2019 Nissan Terra 2.5 EL 4x2 MT variant. Orprecio fitted it with a bunch of off-road-oriented upgrades to get it ready for overlanding. He initially swapped the stock rubber with Nitto Terra Grappler 265/70 R17 A/T tires and added a crossbar and Adventure Kings 2.5m x 2m side awning for their first camping trip in Tanay, Rizal.

He then proceeded to get a Mammoth AluRack flatrack with an Ironman 4x4 50-liter roof cargo bag for their first overnight camp in Cavinti, Laguna. The last of the aftermarket modifications included a Body Armor 4x4 Skyridge rooftop tent, a two-inch Ironman 4x4 foam cell suspension lift, and Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 285/70 R17 tires.

The Terra’s current setup, which the family now uses on camping trips together with their son John, features a Mammoth battery and solar panel, a 3.8-liter portable water system, and an Adventure Kings shower tent, among others. The family now goes camping in various locations around Luzon and sometimes even joins various groups to tackle trails in Rizal, Pangasinan, and Benguet.

How did all this lead to a small pop-up coffee shop, then? Orprecio said BACS was just an offshoot of their family’s love for camping and coffee. “One thing led to another,” we were told.

“We planned on featuring local coffee beans for each of our overlanding adventures. Great feedback from friends who received local coffee beans and fresh ground coffee as Christmas gifts in 2021 inspired us to sell online. We then did our own coffee drips and created coffee concoctions. We brainstormed to come up with something that fits our lifestyle, hobby, and passion. Beans Adventures Coffee Station was born merging our camping adventures, love for coffee, and our Nissan Terra.”

Orprecio then enrolled in barista classes, and these days the family uses their Terra as the coffee station for outdoor setups. BACS also does indoor events—minus the SUV, of course—depending on the client’s preferences. It’s still a sideline for now, but Orprecio is looking to make it a full-time business.

Suffice to say, this Nissan Terra’s really being used to its capacity. You can check out more photos below:
