This restaurant in Bacolod City takes the ‘park and dine’ concept up a notch

This looks like a lot more fun than having to eat food out of a paper box

The days of hassle-free dine-ins at restaurants feel like forever ago, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be back anytime soon. That said, there are still some ways to enjoy that restaurant experience we miss dearly.

We’re talking about drive-in dining, which has been one of the best ways to eat out during this pandemic. In fact, as early as last year, several restaurants in Metro Manila have already started offering park-and-dine services.

There’s this restaurant in Bacolod City, though, that takes a slightly different approach to the experience. Instead of serving packed food, Thirdwave Restaurant takes it up a notch and serves plated food on a makeshift table so their customers can still somehow ‘dine in’ from inside their cars.

Waiters bring a large slab of wood that’s mounted on the doors of your car. The food and drinks are then served as they normally would be inside the restaurant. We’ve yet to try this out, but we reckon this beats having to eat food out of a paper box and using plastic utensils. To see just how this works, you can check out the short clip below:

Granted, this still won’t give you the full restaurant experience, but it’s a safer and more convenient alternative that we can resort to in the meantime. Know of any food joints in the metro that offers these kinds of services, too? Share them in the comments.
