Seiko and Initial D have birthed another collaboration piece. Previously, the watchmaker and manga franchise teamed up to create a Toyota AE86-inspired watch for the latter’s 30th anniversary. This time, they’re releasing a similar chronograph model inspired by the yellow FD3S Mazda RX-7 driven by Keisuke Takahashi in the series.
On Japanese online merchandise shops like Premico, the watch is listed as a preorder, with shipments scheduled to begin in January 2027. According to Premico, the watch will cost JPY65,780 (P25,119) with a JPY700 (P267) shipping fee. Other websites such as The Japanese Factory, which ships worldwide (including to the Philippines), list the timepiece at P37,200.
The watch features a Seiko quartz movement. It has a case diameter of 39.8mm, a lug-to-lug length of 47mm, and a thickness of 12.8mm. The dial is primarily yellow with the Seiko and ‘Red Suns’ logo on the three o’clock position, a date window between the four and five o’clock markers, and a rotary-engine-inspired 12 o’clock index.

Being a chronograph, there are three subdials with red numbers and indices inspired by the RX-7’s red-illuminated instrument cluster. Other features include a stainless steel bracelet available in small, medium, or large sizes, a Hardlex crystal, and water resistance up to 100 meters.
