We first saw the all-new Suzuki Swift last March during the Bangkok International Motor Show. We were very impressed that we took tons of photos of the subcompact hatchback for you guys. We wondered: Would it be similar to what we're getting? Well, that's beside the point at that time honestly. Today, we can finally confirm that the Swifts (Swifties?) that will reach our shores will come from Thailand.

Now, let's talk about the Dzire. It first made a surprise appearance at this year's Manila International Auto Show. And then just recently, Suzuki Philippines let us take the sedan to the track. The Dzire is available in two variants: the GL MT and GL+AGS, while shoppers who prefer the hatch have three variants as options: the GL MT, the GL CVT, and the GLX CVT.

The Suzuki Dzire is lower and wider than its predecessor, clearly distancing itself away from the Swift. The Japanese marque emphasizes that this sedan has auto gear shift (AGS) technology, which is said to combine the fuel efficiency of the manual transmission and the convenience of the automatic tranny.

The Swift, on the other hand, turns more premium by adapting European design cues without losing its identity. In the brief time we had it for the Top Gear Launch Pad shoot, the hatchback proved to be light, nimble, and easy to maneuver.

To satisfy your curiosity, here are more photos of the new hatch and sedan from Suzuki.
