Growing up, the Gran Turismo franchise has always featured cars we lusted over in our youth. If anything, it continues that tradition today by having some of the hottest and sought after models of the present, inspiring budding car enthusiasts of the future.
But lately, the folks from Polyphony Digital have been having a little bit of fun in its more recent free downloadable content updates. We’ve seen the Toyota Alphard and Toyota HiMedic, for instance. But now, it’s Suzuki’s turn to join Gran Turismo 7’s growing list of quirky cars.

In case you missed it, the Suzuki Jimny is now playable in the game. No, this is not an April Fools prank. The little SUV has managed to make its name to ‘The real driving simulator’.
Mind you, the Suzuki Jimny in the game is a little different from what we have sitting in showrooms right now. The virtual Jimmy is based on the local kei car version, one that follows the rules of the segment.
So, instead of a 1.5-liter engine, the JDM-spec Jimny comes with a turbocharged 660cc three-cylinder engine that makes 63hp and 96Nm of torque. With stats like that, it won’t be outrunning Porsche GT3 models any time soon…even with a ton of mods.

Still, we’re here for the laughs and we’re honestly not surprised a whole lot of players have gone wild with it. Heck, we’d build a dune-busting Jimny just for the heck of it or take a bone stock version out on the Nürburgring to see if we can finish the lap in 15 minutes or less.
Sure, some of the hardcore Gran Turismo fans won’t like it, but we say keep the meme cars coming, Polyphony Digital.
